About

In the summer of 2013, after a week trip to a children's home, I felt the Lord leading me to return there after my graduation in May 2014 to intern for 6 months. This is what lead me to start this blog. My intention was that those who were walking with me through my internship in Colombia could easily follow what the Lord was doing in my life and those I was doing it with. Instead of discontinuing this blog when that chapter came to a close, I decided to keep sharing.
Some of you readers might have fumbled across my blog, so you may be unfamiliar with the details of my life; you may feel a disconnect to the stories or my reflections on what God is teaching me. You may see themes repeated over and over again, because God has had to teach and reteach me the same lessons many times. However, these repetitions have enabled me to write and encourage others better about some of the things I am learning, which I hope will benefit you also.

I chose the title "Life to the Fullest", because I felt it was one of the treasures that my friends in Latin America taught me with their lives. They taught me to enjoy the now, to live this moment to the full, so that I will not miss the person God wants me to love or the lesson he wants me to learn. These friends reminded me that this is the only moment I am guaranteed and can do anything about. Jesus came to defeat death so we no longer had to fear death but could enjoy Him and the life He gives today. There is wonder in the here and now...I don't want to miss it. The clock is ticking.Someone once told me my time on earth is like a fly on the walls of a living room...the living room being eternity.
Jim Elliot said, "Wherever you are be all there. Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God." So when the moment is over and a new one begins just do the next thing. I want to be faithful in the small things God gives, so I may be faithful in the much.

I am excited to be participating in the Joni and Friends internship to China from July 11-August 1. The internship will incorporate hands-on-ministry to orphans with disabilities, training through a course on disability and suffering and being mentored on how to use my personal skill set to serve those with special needs and disabilities.
By June 11, I must raise $3,700. If you would like to help in this way with a tax-deductable donation you may do so by visiting my intern page and clicking Donate Now. You may also learn more details and become involved!

"O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago" (Isaiah 25:1).
