Here I am. Send Me!

"And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” 
 Isaiah 6:8

"At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me"(Matthew 18:1-5).
All I ever wanted to be as a child was a mommy. I carried baby dolls everywhere and held real babies whenever I had the opportunity.  That longing has remained to this day but has grown into a desire to love those who have never experienced the nurture of a mother. Yes, I desire(perhaps first) to be a wife and bear my own children, but whether or not God grants that desire is His prerogative....
The Lord has continued to say to me over and over again, "Be still. Rest in My sovereignty. Trust Me. Obey Me.” I am learning that as I do these things He gives me contentment with Himself which is more satisfying than anything I could ever desire in this world: "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice...Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. AND the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."(Philippians 4:4, 6-7). Hebrews 10:23 says, "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful."
My ultimate desire is similar to Isaiah's when he answers God's call to go and speak to the people of Israel in Isaiah 6:8: It is to go into the world and be a living testimony of  the hope, love, joy, and compassion found in our Lord Jesus Christ. I long for these children-at-risk to know that there is a God who sees, a God who knows their suffering, a God who rejoices in them and has made them for His glory. I believe God is leading me to live among the children of South America, caring for their spiritual/physical needs and pointing them to the God who "chose them before the foundation of the world, that they should be holy and blameless before him and in love predestined them for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace"(Eph.1:4-6).   
My vision is God’s vision for me and my steps as He reveals them to me in His timing. 

 “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world"(1 John 4:4).

     Standing before their relatives who where to be witnesses to this covenant, the young man poured a glass of wine and handed it to the young woman standing beside him saying, " This is my covenant with you." All waited on the edge of their seats. Would she accept it and drink or would she refuse? No More Plan-B's

I've been pondering the life of Abraham. A man whom God calls to leave everything, yet he brings along his "plan-b's". God promises the impossible...And as we often do in our hearts, he laughs at God seeing only through the lens of a man. Over and over he takes the situations into his own hands and often listens to the advice of his closet relationships above God's. Yet God continues to remind Abram of his promise and blessing. He even changes his name to Abraham, meaning the father of nations, before He had fulfilled the promise of one! Finally, after a decade of waiting yet not waiting and suffering the consequences of his "plan-b's", Abraham is given his promise. Had he deserved it? No, but God wanted to show Abraham who He was. A ugust began a new chapter for me here in Leticia. I began alternating teaching English one week with teaching a physical activity such as art, embroidery, sewing, exercise, etc. the next. For the most part my weekly schedule is teaching the tutors Monday morning and planning me week's lesson for the kids; On Tuesday I do my grocery shopping, work on updating the info for the each child's sponsor, and doing whatever else there is to do. Wednesday I teach Group 1 with ages ranging from kinder garden to third grade; Thursday I teach Group 2(4th-5th grade) and Group 3 and 4(middle and high schoolers) on Friday. On Wednesday nights I sometimes attend a small Bible study in a home with people from my church, otherwise I head home by 5pm to make dinner, read, and watch the news.
